Family First

Who was Patrick?   Patrick was born to Kathleen Curran and Huey Marshall on April 12, 1979.  He was raised by his mother in Granby, MA and later in Chicopee, MA. Kathy was a young, single teenaged mom who dedicated her life to raising her son.

Patrick's immediate family for many years included his grandparents Monique and James Curran, uncles  Michael and Jim Curran and Dave Nash and Ken Roberts, aunts Lisa Nash, Sharon Murphy, Heather and Jennifer Curran.  Our large family also included many cousins:  David, Matthew, Heather, Autumn, Bridget, Lauren, Danielle, Brian, Steven, Seth and JP.  In being a Curran, your cousins are your sisters and brothers.  We are a very tight-knit clan that tries to live out our motto "Family first" every day.

As the years went by, Patrick was able to form a relationship with his father and his father's family in Alabama.  He went to visit his brothers and sisters and spent time getting to know each of them.  One of Pat's favorite trips included a solo roadtrip to Alabama and just being a part of the family he was welcomed into with open arms.

Patrick was above all, a family man.  He wanted nothing more in life than to marry his fiancee, Lierin Labonte, and be a father to her son Dylan.  Patrick was often heard saying that he and Lierin were the next , "Grandma and Grandpa Curran."

In his short life, Patrick served the town of Granby, MA in many capacities.  Recreation committees, DARE basketball summer programs and coaching sports were all very dear parts of his life.  Patrick was elected Selectman for the town of Granby in 2004 and served as Chairperson during his term.

His love and dedication to the little town of Granby was not something he just spoke about, it was something he DID.  He was not known for bragging or for waving his resume around (I don't think he even had a resume!), he just got up and did what needed doing.

Of course, this tiny biography is only snapshot of what Patrick did during his life.  What he meant to those who knew him and loved him, how sorely he is missed and what we would give to just hear that laugh one more time... well, I invite you to keep reading.  Visit back or come join us at one of our celebrations or fundraisers.  Believe me, we'll fill you in!
